While walking home from downtown there was a kid on the phone with his friend on his stoop. He asked me if I spoke Chinese. I was going to lie but I told him I didn't. I listened to him explain to his friend as I walked away that he truly just asked a stranger if he spoke Chinese. He clarified several times that I wasn't his dad.
